In 1997, Afro Colombian farming communities in northwestern Colombia were driven from their homelands
in a military & paramilitary operation called Operation Genesis. Families were torn apart, and people were
assassinated. Some disappeared and have not been found since. But they returned to their homeland years
later, in an attempt to reclaim some of what they lost. This is their story. In their own words.
